Hal Wilmarth

Hal Wilmarth '69

A two-sport athlete originally from Corning, Iowa, Hal Wilmarth is the epitome of a Northwest family member.

He came to Northwest in the early '60s to study ag business and was a member of the football and wrestling teams. Hal's late wife, Joy '80, and their four children, Shari '88, Tami '90, Todd '91 and Scott '93, also graduated from Northwest. Today, a scholarship in Joy's name will help current and future generations of Bearcats.

Hal, who runs the Farmer Elevator Company in Hopkins, remains active at Northwest as a member of The Centennial Society and with the Maryville chapter of the Northwest Alumni Association.

"Northwest has been a big part of my family for 40 years," Wilmarth said. "It really is true when they say, 'Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat.'"

The University's future is bright thanks to the commitment and devotion from alumni and friends like Hal Wilmarth!
