The Maryville Chapter elected new officers: Paul Wilmes ’75, president; John Van Cleave ’73, ’89, vice president; and Jamie Lindsay Long ’93, ’98, secretary. The chapter co-sponsored a free movie night on campus with the Student Activities Council. During this event, the chapter provided free water and popcorn.
Gathering at the Alumni House for a Maryville Chapter meeting were Jeff Otte, Jamie Lindsay Long ’93, ’98, Paul Wilmes ’75, John Van Cleave ’73, ’89, Shawn Wake ’92, Mike Zech ’86 and Bonnie White Sutton ’71, ’96.
The Maryville Alumni and Friends Chapter continues to gather for monthly socials at Carson’s Sports Grille on the second Thursday of each month. The chapter hosted the Summer Bash reunion at the Alumni House and, as the freshmen were moving into their residence halls, chapter members distributed complimentary water to the newest Bearcats and their families. In October, the chapter participated in Northwest’s Homecoming parade with members of other Northwest alumni chapters. The Maryville Alumni and Friends Chapter sponsor a 5 p.m. monthly social the second Thursday of each month at Carson’s Sports Grille. The chapter organized its annual Super Bowl Party in February, and the money raised at the event benefits the chapter scholarship. In July, the chapter will host Summer Bash in Maryville. Members of the Maryville Chapter hosted a Super Bowl party in February at the Maryville Country Club. Chapter members and Bearcat fans attended several watch parties throughout Maryville for the NCAA Division II National Championship football game. The Northwest Missouri State University Alumni Association is establishing alumni chapters worldwide. Organized by alumni volunteers and supported by the Office of Alumni Relations, these chapters sponsor a variety of activities for alumni to get together socially and stay abreast of news from Northwest Missouri State University.
