Presides over meetings and represents the organization in a professional manner to faculty, staff, and administration. The President works closely with each member of the Executive Board, including the SAC Advisor and Director of Campus Activities. The President works hard to ensure members of the Executive Board are following all proper procedures and steps needed to produce activities that the student body will appreciate and attend.
Along with the VP of programming and Recruitment, oversees the progress of the Executive Board and assisits the president. The Vice President is a functional representative to all other campus offices and organizations. Assisits the president in fulfilling his/her duties, records and distributes minutes, maintains budgets. The VP of Finance and Admin sends correspondence on behalf of SAC and keeps attendance records at events.
Along with the VP of Finance and Admin, oversees the progress of the Executive Board and assists the President. The Vice President is a functional representative to all other campus offices and organizations. The VP of Programming & Recruitment schedules recruitment events, works with other clus and organizations to solici feedback about programming, and oversees committee chairs.
Responsible for the booking, planning, and execution of concerts! We have brought such performers as Hellogoodbye, Dierks Bentley, Bucky Covington, Luke Bryan, Hinder and Papa Roach, just to name a few. Concert committee provides students with the unplugged series held in JW's Grille during dinner. It is an exciting committee that works hard and plays hard!
Dedicated to creating opportunities to help the students and community of Northwest have a great time. Recently, the entertainment committee has brought recycled percussion, Comedian Kyle Cease, and Comedian Stephen Lynch. Whether it's laughing with the featured comedian or watching forks bend with a mentalist, we are committed to bringing nationally recognized entertainers to Northwest!
Helps to plan events for SOAR, Advantage Week, Northwest Week, Homecoming and Family Day. We help make great events even better!
Works with the Late Night committee and advisor to coordinate Thursday's at the Union. The Late Night Chair is responsible for buying supplies, booking rooms, and advertising Thursday's at the Union. We help promote alcohol-free alternatives on-campus! Join us for bingo night, casino night, spa night, coffee houses, and a a variety of other events!
Dedicated to providing students and the community with speakers who discuss current events and can relate to the life of today's university students. SAC Lecture Committee wants to stimulate the minds of the Northwest students and community with speakers who share stories that make them think, laugh, and reflect. Recent speakers include Mike Henry, Jerry Greenfield, Frank Warren and Morgan Spurlock. Admission is free.
Coordinates publicity with Executive Board Members for upcoming events and open meetings. He/She contacts radio stations and newspapers, if necessary, for publicity for SAC and sponsored events. The Publicity and Promotions committee creates a schedule for the student planner at the end of the spring trimester. He/She also works with the University's Public Relations office on any press release or notice that involves SAC sponsored events.
