As a Northwest student or alumni, you may join this database of career information free of charge! After registering with our office, you will have complete access to job and internship vacancies posted by employers through our office. Students may sign up for on campus interviews conducted at Northwest and be included in resume referrals. Hire A Bearcat can also connect you to job and internship vacancies posting from other colleges and universities around the nation.

Our career resource library contains books, periodicals, videos, DVD's and much more on the latest career related topics. Stop by anytime during our normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and browse.

Education Credential Files

In addition to registering with our office, an education major or alumni may create a credential file. This tool is used during the application process and should contain a current resume, letters of recommendation and a copy of Northwest unofficial transcripts. This file can be mailed or faxed to employers at the candidate's request or it may be requested by an employer (fees may apply).

DISCOVER

The DISCOVER program is an online tool that can help assess interests, values and abilities as they relate to the "world of work". Additional information within this online resource includes information about occupations, majors, schools, and much more. Students may stop by the Career Services Office or send us an e-mail to acquire a personal Username for this free service. Students may wish to make an appointment with a Career Services staff member to evaluate the results and explore suggested career paths.

eCompanion Site

This web site and our eCompanion site offer you extensive career related information and samples 24/7. Students and faculty may use their Northwest User Name and Password to gain entry into the Career Services eCompanion site.

Each fall and spring employers travel to the Northwest campus to interview candidates for all types of positions -- full time, part-time, and internships. They are looking for you! Current students and registered alumni gain access to interview schedules completing the registration process in our Hire A Bearcat  database.

Placement Surveys

The Career Services office collects and publishes data about the success of each Northwest graduating class. For example, we know the percentage of our undergraduate and graduate level students that are either employed or continuing their education within six months of graduation! We have detailed information that can be helpful to current and prospective students as well as to employers and faculty members about job titles, employer sites and locations, salary ranges, as well as the graduate programs that are chosen by Northwest students. Resume and Cover Letter Assistance

Career Services staff members are available to critique your resume and cover letterView PDF. Drop by Career Services in the Administration Building (Room 130) with your draft and make an appointment or visit our office during Walk in Hours on Wednesdays between 2 and 5 p.m.

Resume Referrals

Students and alumni that have completed the registration process may have their resume forwarded to an employer. Employers contact Career Services looking for qualified candidates throughout the year. We query Hire A Bearcat for registered candidates that match the employer's needs and forward the resumes of those candidates to the employer immediately. This is a free service to both the candidates and the employers!

Walk In Hours

Our staff is available to assist you on Wednesday afternoons from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. without appointment on a first come, first serve basis. We are located in the Administration Building, Room 130.
