_____ Contact Student Employment to post job for a minimum of three
days. All vacant student employment positions must be posted on
the Student Employment website. A request for a job posting is
made by completing the Student Employment Job Posting Request
Form and submitting to the Student Employment Office. The job
posting request form is located at the following link:
http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/student/jobrequestform.htm. All
student employment jobs must be posted a minimum of three days._____ Accept applications. Each department is responsible for their own
application. A sample application is provided in order to assist in
creating one that fits the department needs. The department
application MUST have the department name at the top of the
application._____ Contact Student Employment to determine which applicants have
eligibility for federal work study._____ Contact Student Employment to remove the job posting (anytime
after the three day minimum)._____ Select applicants to interview (number will vary based on position)
and conduct interviews. It is important to remember when
conducting interviews to ask appropriate and helpful questions. All
applicants must be asked the same questions. Sample interview
questions are provided by the Office of Human Resources to assist
in the interview and selection process._____ Select candidate/s and contact those applicants who have not
been selected for the position. A sample rejection letter is
provided._____ Submit Student Personnel Action Form to Student Employment.

http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/student/spaf.htm._____ Student reports to the Office of Human Resources to complete the
employment eligibility documents. In order for a student to be
eligible for employment they are required to complete the I-9 and
W-4 forms with the Office of Human Resources. These documents
must be completed prior to their first day of employment or at
the very latest by the third day of employment. The I-9 document
requires the new student employee to provide identification proving
employment eligibility and identification. Remind the student to
bring a photo ID and social security card or birth certificate (see
Employment Verificiation for a complete list of acceptable
documents or download the PDF file for I-9 information)._____ Student must complete the online orientation (new Northwest
student employee hires only) within the first three days of
employment. The on-line orientation is located at the following
link: http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/student/orientation.htm.
There are three sessions that must be reviewed and a quiz that
must be completed and submitted by all NEW student employees.
Student employees are to be compensated for their time to
complete the orientation up to one hour. The orientation may be
completed under the supervision of the supervisor or outside of
regular scheduled work hours._____ Students may begin working unless notified by Student
Employment.
