Job Description |
Assist Client Computing in the repair, retrieval and support of campus computers and monitors while learning techniques of repair, problem diagnosis and inventory; Swap and reload notebook computers; Bench repair, repairing of machines and diagnosing problems; Assist with inventory; System installation; Answer questions about software applications; Other duties as assigned; Utilize effective oral communications when answering questions; Communicate technical information in user friendly terms and language; Able to rephrase information; Resolve needs of clients; Troubleshoot hardware/software problems; Diagnose problems; Follow detailed directions both oral and written; Adhere to and apply appropriate processes and procedures; Bench repair, repair of machines; Basic repair and troubleshooting of desktop and notebook computers; Basic knowledge of Windows XP/Vista; Understand fundamental hardware components with printers, scanners, notebook computers, USB devices and networks; Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, Web-based Exchange Email, Microsoft Outlook, helpdesk management software; Basic hardware and software installation; Familiarity with the Northwest campus computer network; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Apply fundamentals of computer related majors; Maintain confidentiality; Exhibit professionalism and courtesy; Exhibit positive customer relations skills; Willingness to learn and train others; Demonstrate ability to work positively with others; Have ability to work with diverse customers. |

Qualifications |
Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; Knowledge of PC hardware and PC repair preferred; Experience with: Windows XP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, Web-based Exchange Email; Experience with the following helpful: Microsoft Outlook, FTP, Windows Vista, virus removal; Familiarity with basic networking; Excellent communication skills; Customer relation’s skills; Willingness to learn and train others; Ability to follow detailed directions both oral and written; Ability to troubleshoot various computer and printer problems; Strong English communication skills for working with people of diverse backgrounds. |
