Job Description |
To provide late night safe and timely transportation to Northwest students; Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, record keeping and maintenance of files; Receive, screen and transfer calls; Other duties as assigned; Requires driving a University vehicle on and off campus to transport students; There will also be additional opportunities to work as security staff for University functions such as parades and concerts, mainly specializing in crowd control for the events; Ability to follow oral instructions; Operate all communications equipment provided; Serve as communications liaison between field staff and communications centers; Communicate effectively with students using the service; Ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously; Ability to resolve difficult interpersonal situations; Ability to maintain a calm presence of mind under difficult circumstances or in the event of an emergency; Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000 and basic Windows; Ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Fundamentals of oral communication; Ability to work unsupervised; Act professional and be dependable; Attention to detail; Maintain confidentiality; Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations skills; Ability to function effectively as a member of the Safe Rides team; Ability to work with diverse on-and off-campus populations; Ability to interact successfully with diverse students. |

Qualifications |
Excellent communication skills; Successful completion of investigative background check; Able and willing to complete the AED/CPR training; First Aid Training, and Critical Communications training within one year of hire date; Must have a current, valid driver's license and a safe driving record; Must meet all University requirements to drive a University vehicle. |
