Job Description

To assist the provision of out-of-class testing accommodations for students with disabilities; Must communicate and interact effectively with Northwest faculty, staff and students and ensure the security and integrity of exams by following established procedures; Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional ethics and mature decision making; Sit quietly for long periods while proctoring; Traverse campus to return test immediately following test administration; Answer phones and take appointments; Communicate and interact effectively with Northwest faculty, staff and students and ensure the security and integrity of exams by following established procedures; Resolve needs of clients; Develop competence in Kurzweil and other adaptive technology software; Check e-mail daily; Utilize standard Microsoft Office Suite; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Develop strategies to support a variety of student learners; Seek support and guidance; Exhibit professionalism, courtesy and positive costumer relations skills; Demonstrate ethical behavior; Pay attention to detail; Support and encourage students; Work independently and with minimal supervision; Demonstrate ability to work positively with others; Have ability to work with diverse on campus populations; Interact regularly with international students, underrepresented populations and students of varying academic abilities.

Qualifications

Experience working with faculty, staff and students with disabilities; Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in addition to continually demonstrating ethical behavior; Upperclassman status; Proctoring experience preferred; Previous work with students with disabilities population, familiarity with processes and procedures of the Proctor/Testing Center is very beneficial; Ability to handle stressful situations with ease and tact; Supervise students in the proctoring situation; Computers used along with the specialized reading software (Kurzweil).

Wage Rate

New minimum wage takes effect January 1, 2009; Wage rate to be determined.
