Northwest Missouri State University

Dual Enrollment and Credit

High school students can earn college credit from Northwest.

Through dual enrollment high school students can earn college credit from Northwest Missouri State University while still in high school. Currently, all of these courses are being taught at the home high school by high school faculty. We are exploring the option of offering some dual credit courses via ITV taught by Northwest faculty.

To ensure an appropriate rigor for dual enrollment courses the instructors and course content for dual enrollment must be approved by the subject matter department at Northwest Missouri State University.

Students must also meet certain ACT score requirements and grade point average requirements.

Research has identified dual enrollment as one factor that can aid in college success and completion of degree work. [University Continuing Education Association. (2006, June). Lifelong Learning Trends (9th ed.),  p.30.]
