Boettcher Named Northwest Athletic Media Relations/Sports Information Director
MARYVILLE – Northwest Missouri State Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Boerigter has announced the hiring of Bryan Boettcher as the director of athletic media relations and sports information. Boettcher recently completed his first year as an athletic communications assistant with the University of Wisconsin athletic department. He replaces Chad Waller, who accepted the position of director of sports information and media relations with the national office of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
“I’m excited to become a part of Dr. Boerigter’s staff and a member of the Bearcat community,” Boettcher said. “This is a great opportunity for me to promote a successful institution in a friendly and supportive environment. I look forward to working alongside the coaches and student-athletes at Northwest Missouri State.”
At Wisconsin, Boettcher was the primary contact for the women’s softball program and served as the secondary contact with the nationally ranked men’s basketball program. Prior to his work at Wisconsin, he served as the sports information director at Coe (Iowa) College from 2003-06.
“We’re very pleased that Bryan has accepted our invitation to join the Bearcat family,” Boerigter said. “He comes to us highly recommended and we believe he’s the perfect fit for Northwest.”
Boettcher will begin his official duties on July 1.
