Bearcats Finish 11th at Roy Griak Invitational

Results

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Northwest Missouri State men’s cross country finished 11th of 22 Division II teams with 288 team points at the 23th Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. It’s the highest finish for the Bearcat men at the Roy Griak since 2001 when available records begin.

Zach Layton led the Bearcats for the second straight week, surging from 51st at the three-kilometer mark to finish 27th overall with 26:29.3. Trevor Johannsen finished 46th overall with 26:49.9 to lower his 8K time by more than 15 seconds from last weekend.

The Northwest men will be off next weekend as the women travel to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State Oct. 4. Races begin at 8 a.m.
