Council Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest junior LaRon Council earned MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 14, after rushing for a career-high 144 yards and four touchdowns against Missouri Western Sept. 13. It's Council's first career honor.
Council scored the first four Bearcat touchdowns, with three coming in the first half. He rushed for 113 yards in the second half, including a career-best 41-yard run on the Bearcats' final possession. It was his second-straight 100-yard performance and third of his career.
Council and the rest of the Bearcats will play at Truman Sept. 20 for possession of the Hickory Stick, Division II's oldest traveling trophy.
