Council Earns Third MIAA Player of the Week Award

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State junior running back LaRon Council earned his third MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honor after matching career-highs with 144 rushing yards and four touchdowns against No. 6 Pittsburg State in the Fall Classic at Arrowhead VII.
Council averaged a season-best 6.0 yards per carry on 24 rushes, accounting for 144 of Northwest's 193 rushing yards. He stands with 668 yards and 17 touchdowns (1 receiving) through six games this season, and leads Division II with 17 points per game.
Northwest travels to Central Missouri to wrap up a four-game road stretch Oct. 11. Kickoff from Walton Stadium is 1:30 p.m.
