
MARYVILLE, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State's women's golf team earned its second win in program history Friday, besting Missouri Valley and Avila in a rain-shortened Avila Invitational. The two-day event was limited to 27 holes instead of 36. The Bearcats team score of 538 was far ahead of second-place Missouri Valley (593).
Freshmen Jessie Feuerbach and Sarah Hayes placed second and third, respectively, with scores of 128 and 129. Avila's Anna Frazier earned medalist honors with a 27-hole score of 116 (+11).
Lauren Atkinson (139), Sydney Askin (142) and Erin Luchtel (148) also competed for the Bearcats' five-person team.
Hayes shot a team-best 83 in round one and followed that with a nine-hole total of 46 Friday. Feuerbach shot 87 in round one and 41 Friday.
