Midnight Madness
The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's basketball programs hold an annual Midnight Madness event in Bearcat Arena. Midnight Madness offers a chance for students and the community to meet and greet both the Northwest men’s and women’s basketball teams. The event gets the fans ready for the basketball season, introducing both the teams in an exciting late-night event.
Admission is FREE and open to the public, and FREE pizza and drinks are provided all night. Fans will enjoy an autograph session, a slam dunk contest, performances by the Bearcat Steppers and Cheerleaders, and a dance competiton by the teams themselves! You won't want to miss Associate Women's Head Coach Lori Hopkins and Assistant Men's Coach Austin Meyer go head-to-head in a sumo wrestling match!
Northwest students have the opportunity to compete in contests and participate in several drawings and competitions with combined winnings totaling over $10,000 in cash, prizes, and aladine (campus meal) plans. There is plenty of free stuff to take home as well. This year, a fan will have the opportunity to walk away with a new car from Schreck Motors valued at $10,000!
Midnight Madness will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Bearcat Arena. Doors open at 10:00 pm!

Head Volleyball Coach Anna Tool and the Athletic Promotions Department would like all fans to "Pink Out" Bearcat Arena on Tuesday night, Oct. 21, when the Bearcat Volleyball team faces conference foe Washburn at 7:00 pm.
The "Pink Out" is in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), and we are asking all fans attending the match to support this cause by wearing a pink shirt. A local bank will donate money towards cancer research for every fan in attendance! The more fans, the more money donated!
FREE "Pink Out" t-shirts and pom poms will be given out! Information on cancer will also be provide.

The Northwest Missouri State University Athletic Department is committed to giving Bearcat fans the best experience possible by providing a great game day atmosphere when they attend athletic events. National Girls and Women in Sports Day

National Girls and Women in Sports Day was held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 in the Student Recreation Center on the Northwest Campus. Over sixty youth particitpated in the event last year.
This annual day of celebration is recognized in all 50 states by various schools and organizations. The purpose is to recognize female athletic participation and achievements. Click here for more information about National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Every year during the month of February, Northwest Missouri State athletics hosts a special clinic for area youth in recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The Northwest womens teams, Bearcat Steppers, and Bearcat Cheeleaders each instruct clinic participants in the basic fundamentals related to their sport.
The event is free and open to any members of the public. Boys and girls ages 4-10 get one-on-one interaction with athletes, free food, goodie bags, and prizes. Pre-registered participants receive a free ticket to the women's basketball game at 1:30 pm. The goal is to increase visibility among the community of our women's sports including cheer and dance, while promoting healthy active lifestyles and increase attendance at those sports. Pre-registration is suggested but not required.
