Hanna Leads Bearcat Attack for Second Straight Match
JOPLIN, Mo. - Alex Hanna led the Northwest attack for the second straight match, hitting a match-high 11 kills, but it wouldn't be enough for the Bearcats as they fell 3-0 to Drury 25-22, 25-15, 25-19 in the Missouri Southern Invitational.
The Bearcats (2-3) tied the first set 12 times, the last at 22-22, but only took the lead twice in a first set loss. Iesha Haskins recorded six kills and hit .364 to pace Northwest in the first frame.
Northwest put together six team blocks in the third set, with multiple block assists from Hanna, Katie Swenson, Amber Ryan, Amy Bohnker and Sara Falcone. Bohnker led both teams with four blocks during the match.
The Bearcats wrap up the night with Midwestern State at 7 p.m. The Mustangs defeated Drury 3-0 earlier today.
