Spangenberg Tallies 22 Digs in 3-0 Loss to No. 12 Truman

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Paige Spangenberg dug the ball 22 times, a season-best in three-set matches, as the Bearcats (7-15, 4-6) dropped a 3-0 match to No. 12 Truman (20-5, 7-2) tonight at Bearcat Arena. Scores went 25-18, 25-10, 25-18.

Rachel Nisi, Amber Ryan and Sara Falcone all recorded seven kills. Ryan added a pair of aces and blocks to lead Northwest with 10 points. Amy Bohnker made two block assists to improve her career total to 238, one short of tying for fifth in all-time records.

Katie Swenson recorded 19 assists while Andrea Potter accounted for the other eight.

In all-time three-set matches, Spangenberg's 22 assists is tied for fifth in all-time program records and is tied for the third-best performance in Bearcat Arena history. She improved her career average to 4.80 per set and is nearing five digs per set this season with a 4.90 average.

Up Next: Northwest hosts No. 9 Washburn Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The Lady Blues swept Emporia State tonight in Topeka, Kan., in the first loss for the Hornets in 20 matches.
