
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Alex Hanna recorded double-digit kills for the fifth-straight match and hit a career-high .455 as Northwest Missouri State (9-21, 6-11) dropped a three-set match to Nebraska-Omaha (15-13, 11-6) at Bearcat Arena. Scores went 25-20, 25-15, 25-17.
Nebraska-Omaha used an 8-0 run off the serving of Annie Rice in the first set to take a 14-9 lead. The Bearcats tied the set at 19-19 and again at 20-20 before the Mavericks rattled off five points for a 25-20 win in the first set. Hanna hit .857 with six kills and no errors on seven attempts in the first period.
A 14-2 run in the second set pushed the Mavericks to a 14-4 lead and eventually to a 25-15 win. Nebraska-Omaha closed out the match with a 7-1 run in the third set.
Katie Swenson ended the night with 28 assists to improve her career total to 2,356 and move into fourth in all-time records. She made nine digs and missed her 12th double-double of the season.
Sara Falcone finished with 9.5 points off eight kills and a team-high three blocks on top of six digs. She's made a block in the past 13 matches.
