Bearcats Fall in Three to Bulldogs in Season Finale

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Sara Falcone hit above .300 for the third straight match and led Northwest with seven kills as the Bearcats fell in three sets to No. 9 Truman 25-11, 25-10 and 25-17 toinight in Pershing Arena. Paige Spangenberg led all players with 14 digs.

Falcone finished the season with a team-best .262 hitting percentage. She committed her first attack error tonight in 41 attempts (since Nov. 7) and finished the month with a .357 hitting percentage.

Amber Ryan closed the season at .236 and made four kills and five digs tonight.

Spangenberg ends the season with a program-record 652 digs and broke her own season average record with 5.45 digs per set this season. She will start 2009 sixth in all-time career charts with 1,247.

Andrea Potter made her first appearance in four matches and led the Bearcats with 14 assists.

Truman hit .433 as a team as Allie Cherven eclipsed 1,000 career kills with seven tonight.
