Shooting Hoops to Build Hoops
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State athletic department is aiding Horace Mann in a layup marathon on Friday, Oct. 19. Horace Mann students will fill the school gym and shoot layups from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for basketball hoops on their playground.
Guest shooters from Northwest Missouri athletics will appear at different times throughout the marathon to help the kids make some layups. There are presently no baskets available for the students in the outdoor playground facility.
Northwest Missouri State University will donate the concrete for the surface of the basketball court, but needs money for the hoops. Anyone wishing to make a donation can send it to Horace Mann School, Maryville, MO 64468 in care of Northwest Missouri State University. You can also drop off your donations at the marathon.
