Northwest students are encouraged to have a well-rounded educational experience and that includes experiences that are had outside of the classroom.
As a part of the college experience, we want students to have the opportunity to learn about others as well as learn more about themselves. Exploring new ideas, perspectives and experiences can enrich students' lives.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Northwest complies with FERPA, which gives you certain rights with respect to your education records. FERPA is a federal law which provides that colleges and universities will maintain the confidentiality of student education records.
We value your safety and well being at Northwest. While living in the campus community, certain policies and regulations are set in place for your personal well being, as well as the well being of your fellow students. Also as a student, you have certain rights that you should be aware of.
Every student and stakeholder has the right to know about the community they live in. Campus Safety provides information regarding campus statistics on incidents that occur on campus.
The student handbook is an important resource for students so that they may know all of the rights, opporutnities and information to help make their Northwest experience a successful one.
Many students come to college with learning and/or physical disabilities. The Learning Assistance Providers/Services Committee offers assistance to help students be successful in their Norhtwest experience.
Volunteer Programs and Service Learning
The purpose of the Northwest Volunteer Center (NVC) is to help Northwest Missouri State University students, faculty, and staff become active participants in the Maryville Community. It provides a centrally located office where you can find a clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities.
