Student Government Association

Student Senate is the representative governing body of the Student Government Association, which includes all students at Northwest. The Student Government serves fellow students in several capacities: proposing beneficial revisions in University policy, providing student representation to Faculty Senate and various University committees, acting as a communication link between students and University administration, processing the formation of new student organizations, supervising campus-wide elections and allocating requested money to campus organizations. The Student Government Office (ext. 1218) is located on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union.

Young Democrats (YDA)

This campus organization offers opportunities for involvement in activities promoted by the national Democratic Party. We dedicate ourselves to the historic principles which have sustained our party over the years. We recognize that our members come from all economic levels of life. What we seek is peace, justice, individual freedom and respect for the rights of all northwest Missourians without regard for race, religion, age, creed, national origin, sex or sexual orientation.

Students for Political Awareness (SPA)

SPA promotes awareness of political and current events in our national and internationally. After holding discussions the group decides on options to better the situations that are taking place.

College Republicans are a group of University students who are interested in the Republican Party and furthering its cause. Membership is open to all students.

This is a non-partisan group of students dedicated to increasing student voting in general election. Your Voice, Your Choice strives to encourage voting among young adults and to assist in developing a lifetime commitment to voting.
