Northwest Missouri State University

KXCV/KRNW

KXCV/KRNW staffSince 1971 KXCV has been the public radio voice of Northwest Missouri State University. KXCV and KRNW (founded in 1993) have a dual mission of providing radio programming not available elsewhere in the listening area while also serving as a training ground for Northwest students interested in developing communication skills. KXCV/KRNW programming focuses on in-depth news and information, classical music and jazz performances as well as specialty programs such as Car Talk, Prairie Home companion and Fresh Air. Forty-nine percent of the programming is acquired through network affiliations with National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Radio International (PRI). The remainder of the programming is produced in the KXCV studios. Among the locally produced programs are 19 local/regional newscasts each weekday. The news focus series features interviews about people and events on the campus and in the listening area. Currently one day a week is devoted to an interview with an alumnus. The stations broadcast around the clock.

The full-time KXCV/KRNW staff is committed to student training and evaluation and in placement for the graduates.
