Long identified with quality jazz and swing programming, KXCV/KRNW FM, the 100,000-watt public radio voice of Northwest Missouri State University, will provide its listeners with live broadcasts this summer from two important regional jazz festivals.
The station will broadcast from the Glenn Miller Festival (June 12-15) in Clarinda, Iowa, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, June 13. Highlights will include an interview with Marvin Negley, president of the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society, along with festival organizers, participants and musicians.

The second KXCV/KRNW on-location jazz broadcast will take place from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Coleman Hawkins 10th Anniversary Jazz Celebration (June 20-21) at Seventh and Felix streets in downtown St. Joseph.
During the broadcast, KXCV personalities will interview festival organizers and musicians as well as Dr. Sandra Eckert-Stewart, director of outreach at Northwest. Stewart will talk about academic programs offered through the Northwest’s St. Joseph Center, which is located at 706 Felix Street.
