Summer commencement ceremonies at Northwest Missouri State University will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in Bearcat Arena.
Doors to the arena open at 6 p.m. Degree candidates can pick up their caps and gowns between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 28, through graduation day at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building.

This summer’s commencement speaker is Dr. Earl R. Beaver, a chemical engineer and sustainability expert who spent 30 years with Monsanto Corp., where he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in research, development, environmental and commercial functions.
He began his career with Monsanto in 1969 after earning a Ph.D. in physical chemistry and chemical engineering from Texas Tech University.
Beaver is currently chairman emeritus of the Institute for Sustainability, managing partner of Practical Sustainability LLC, senior technical advisor for RJLee Group Inc. and chairman of the National Accounts Committee of the Global Footprint Network.
He is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Converging Technologies Bar Association and a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
