The Office of Information Systems is currently accepting entries for its annual Take the Challenge cover art contest.
Held in cooperation with the Department of Art and the Center for Information Technology in Education (CITE), the contest is the means by which Information Systems selects cover art for its yearly update of the “Computer User’s Guide to the Electronic Campus.” About 1,700 copies of the guide are printed each year.
The contest has a two-fold mission: to draw attention to the “Computer User's Guide,” which provides students with important information about campus computing resources, guidelines and policies; and to give contest entrants a chance to produce a professional-grade design piece that can be added to their portfolio and resume.
The winning graphic artist will receive a 4-gigabyte USB drive, a certificate of accomplishment, two cover flats and two finished copies of the “Computer User's Guide.”
Contest guidelines and entry forms are available at the Client Computing office on the first floor of B.D. Owens Library, the CITE office on the second floor of the library, the Electronic Campus Support Center, the art/music office on the first floor of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building and Office of University Relations on the second floor of the Administration Building.
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges representing the art department, Information Systems and CITE. All entries must be submitted to Client Computing by Friday, Feb. 29, and the winner will be announced by April 1, 2008.
